Cluck'thulu is a cosmic entity said to have originally inhabited the area of Pixlton. It was first mentioned in some of the scriptures found in the Chicun Itza site, which is supposedly dedicated to it. This has never been definitively proven by scientists though. The entity has since seen churches and temples built in its honor. It is typically worshipped by cultists and depicted in the shape of a big chicken combined with a caricature of human form. These so called Cluck'thulians are of the belief that it was Cluck'thulu that shaped the known world. A sharp contrast with the islands second religion that dictates that the entity Eachatuna is responsible for this.
In the beginning, there was only chaos and disorder in the world. But from this chaos, a chicken deity named Cluck'thulu emerged, bringing order and balance to the land. Cluck'thulu was said to have been born from an egg laid by a mighty rooster, imbued with the power of the gods. With its sharp beak and powerful wings, Cluck'thulu quickly rose to become the leader of all the chicken kind, ruling over them with a wise and fair hand. But Cluck'thulu was not content with simply ruling over the chickens. It yearned for more, and set its sights on the other animals of the land. With its great powers, Cluck'thulu began to gather followers among the other creatures, forging alliances and forming an army of loyal subjects.
As Cluck'thulu's power grew, so too did its ambition. It began to see itself as a god among chickens, and began to demand worship and sacrifice from its subjects. Those who dared to defy Cluck'thulu were swiftly punished, and the fear of its wrath spread far and wide. But despite its fearsome reputation, Cluck'thulu was not without its enemies. Other powerful creatures, jealous of Cluck'thulu's dominance, began to plot against it, seeking to overthrow the chicken deity and take its place. In time, these plots came to a head, and a great war erupted between Cluck'thulu and its enemies. The battles were fierce and bloody, but in the end, Cluck'thulu emerged victorious, its power and influence unchallenged. And so, Cluck'thulu ruled supreme, its name feared and revered by all who knew of it. It became a legend, a chicken deity to be worshiped and feared, a reminder of the power of the gods and the unbreakable will of the chicken kind.
Various artifacts have been retrieved from Chicun Itza made in honor of Cluck'thulu. One of these items, a chicken carved out of stone with rubies inserted into the eye sockets is currently on display in Pixlton Town Hall. Research has learned that there have also been sacrifices made to Cluck'thulu, some of which human in nature. It was considered an honor to be chosen for this, and most likely done to ensure that crop harvests for that year would be successful.
The pronunciation of Cluck'thulu is a subject of debate. It is said that the first syllable should be pronounced gutturally and very thickly. The 'u' is like that in 'full', and the first syllable is remeniscent of the sound a chicken makes. However, this is merely the closest that the human vocal apparatus can come to reproducing the syllables of the cosmic language that the name originates from. The most used pronunciation would be "cluck-THOOL-hu".
The Cluck'thulians are a cult of followers who are so devout to the cause that they prefer to go back to the ways of old. They gather in Wattlethorpe Monastery to practice these beliefs. Whether or not this includes human sacrifices cannot be confirmed by scientists as the monastery is known for its very reclusive nature. Outsiders don't dare go near it and cultists grow their own food on the monastery grounds, meaning they don't have a lot of reasons to venture outside of its walls.
